Newcomb College Pottery

Newcomb Pottery was a line of Arts & Crafts pottery produced between 1895-1940 as part of the women's college at Tulane University in Louisiana.  The pieces were potted by men (mostly Joseph Meyer) and decorated by women (Sadie Irvine, Marie De Hoa LeBlanc and Harriet Joor to name a few).  Some of the early vases with painted flowers Native to Louisiana and scenes featuring moss covered cypress trees and the moon are especially valuable.  Check out the antique Rookwood Pottery and Pewabic Pottery pages.
