Rookwood Pottery began producing American art pottery in Cincinnati, Ohio around 1880. Some of the most sought after pieces are the Rookwood standard glaze featuring Native American portriats. In addition, the arts & crafts movement inspired "Vellum" pieces with a matte finish are highly sought after as well. Rookwood Pottery markings can help identify the year it was made.
