Did you know that Chuck Taylor sneakers are over 100 years old? The popularity of basketball opened the door for Converse to begin producing the All Star sneaker in 1917. Once popular basketball player Charles "Chuck" Taylor joined the sales team in 1921, sales of the sneaker began to increase. By 1932, Chuck Taylor's name was added to the infamous ankle patch on each sneaker. By the 1970's, when other sneakers became more popular with athletes, musicians such as the Ramones and continued to popularize these classics.
