Vintage Omega Speedmaster Watches

Omega released the Speedmaster in 1957 and a legend was born.  “Speed” refers to the tachymeter ring on the bezel and “master” refers to Omega’s professional line of watches.  In the mid 1960’s, NASA was looking for a watch that could withstand extreme conditions (temperature, humidity, pressure, etc) for use by the Apollo astronauts.  The Omega Speedmaster emerged from those tests as the winner and was consequently the first watch worn on the moon (Buzz Aldrin, 1969).  Besides vintage Omega Speedmaster watches, please check out the vintage Heuer watch page and the vintage Rolex watch page as well.
